Almost 15 years ago, Sally Goin began volunteering at the City Rescue Mission in Oklahoma City where she met a boy named Miguel. Over time, Sally began working more closely with Miguel. With Sally's help, Miguel was able to make a home at Willow Springs Boys Ranch.

It was Sally's relationship with Miguel that inspired the creation of FaithWorks of the Inner City. Sally left her teaching career in Edmond to begin FaithWorks in 2003.

A grant from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund allowed FaithWorks to hire an assitant, Jace Kirk, in October of 2005.
